Hey, I'm new to this community and well, sounds great to share quotes with people.
10 month old neice already climbing things, began walking at 7 months. So I thought, "Heh, you know how to walk you know how to climb." Then I realized how metaphoric it was. I'm only impressed by how fast I thought it up, but it obviously may not be entirely original lol

I will never give up cause i still want to try

I will never give up cause i still want to try.

I will never wipe my tears cause i still want to cry.

I will never settle for answers cause i still want to know.

I will never say i don't love you

Cause I still can't let you go.

Its a poem from my journal. :)

Apr. 30th, 2009 09:06 pm the past is past

the past is past
today's today
don't live tomorrow
like yesterday

learn from your mistakes
always take the lead
try really hard
and you will succeed

the world is your snow globe
so shake it up a little
dance to your own beat
sing to the fiddle

the future is yours
make every day last
keep the future looking bright
and just have a blast!

Hi everybody!!

Especially the writing we just write down without thought.
If anyone shares the same passion, i'd love to be friends =D

Life is a tragedy for those who feel, and a comedy for those who think.

La Bruyere

We make our fortunes, and we call them fate.
Earl of Beaconsfield

The best way to prepare for life is to begin to live.
Elbert Hubbard

The boundaries which divide life from death
are at best shadowy and vague.
Who shall say where one ends,
and the other begins?
Edgar Alan Poe

One way to get the most out of life is
to look upon it as an adventure.

William Feather

As I grow to understand life less and less,
I learn to love it more and more.

Apr. 13th, 2009 06:04 pm QUOTEZ: Friedrich Nietzsche (German classical Scholar, Philosopher and Critic of culture, 1844-1900)

“I'm not upset that you lied to me, I'm upset that from now on I can't believe you”

“The higher we soar, the smaller we appear to those who cannot fly.”

“We often refuse to accept an idea merely because the tone of voice in which it has been expressed is unsympathetic to us.”

"When we are tired, we are attacked by ideas we conquered long ago”

“He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.”

“Out of damp and gloomy days, out of solitude, out of loveless words directed at us, conclusions grow up in us like fungus: one morning they are there, we know not how, and they gaze upon us, morose and gray. Woe to the thinker who is not the gardener but only the soil of the plants that grow in him.”

“Growth in wisdom may be exactly measured by decrease in bitterness”

“What if a demon were to creep after you one night, in your loneliest loneliness, and say, 'This life which you live must be lived by you once again and innumerable times more; and every pain and joy and thought and sigh must come again to you, all in the same sequence. The eternal hourglass will again and again be turned and you with it, dust of the dust!' Would you throw yourself down and gnash your teeth and curse that demon? Or would you answer, 'Never have I heard anything more divine'?”

“The man who fights too long against dragons becomes a dragon himself”

“That which does not kill us makes us stronger.”

“And if your friend does evil to you, say to him, ''I forgive you for what you did to me, but how can I forgive you for what you did to yourself?''”

“You gave him an opportunity of showing greatness of character and he did not seize it. He will never forgive you for that.”

“What we do in dreams we also do when we are awake: we invent and fabricate the person with whom we associate -- and immediately forget we have done so.”

“One does not hate as long as one has a low esteem of someone, but only when one esteems him as an equal or a superior.”

Apr. 1st, 2009 09:38 pm Love is...

"Love is a connection with another person, either through birth or through something else that I cannot even explain. It is often just an attraction at first. But it goes far deeper than that. It is a determination to care for the other person no matter what and to allow oneself to be cared for in return. It is a commitment to make the other happy and to be happy oneself. It is not possessive, but neither is it a victim. And it does not always bring happiness. Often it brings a great deal of pain, especially when the beloved is suffering and one feels impotent to comfort. It is what life is all about. It is openness and trust and vulnerability."

I am writing an article about herbs and spices, and I want to give it an interesting name: a quote from Shakespeare. The only thing that comes to mind is Ophelia’s “There's rosemary, that's for remembrance”. If you remember anything else, please let me know!! Thanks

Jan. 11th, 2009 01:19 am love quotes.... in hopes for the future

some nights you just need some quotes on what could be...

<lj-cut text="love what a magical thing">

You have made a place in my heart where I thought there was no room for anything else. You have made flowers grow where I cultivated dust and stones. Remember this, on this journey you insist on making. If you die, I will not survive you long.
-Lan Mandragoran, to Nynaeve al'Meara, characters from Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series

"We come to love, not by finding a perfect person, but by learning to see an imperfect person perfectly." -Sam Keen

"Perhaps...romance didn't come into one's life with pomp and blare...perhaps it crept to one's side like an old friend...perhaps...love unfolded naturally out of a beautiful friendship, as a golden-hearted rose slipping from its green sheath" Anne of Avonlea

For you see, each day I love you more. Today more than yesterday and less than tomorrow.~Rosemonde Gerard

It's gonna be really hard. We're gonna have to work at this every day, but I want to do that because I want you. I want all of you, for ever, you and me, every day. - The Notebook

The best love is the kind that awakens the soul and makes us reach for more, that plants a fire in our hearts and brings peace to our minds. - The Notebook

If you love someone, tell them. For hearts are often broken by words left unspoken. - Stephanie Roogle

"Once in a while, right in the middle of an ordinary life, love gives us a fairy tale." -Anonymous

"Did my heart love till now? Forswear it sight, for I ne'er saw true beauty till this night." -Shakespeare

Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind, And therefore is winged Cupid painted blind.
~William Shakespeare, Mid-Summer Night's Dream, 1595

Love me and the world is mine. ~David Reed

Love is being stupid together. ~Paul Valery

What I need to live has been given to me by the earth. Why I need to live has been given to me by you. ~Author Unknown

I'm here to love you, to hold you in my arms, to protect you. I am here to learn from you and to receive your love in return. I am here because there is no other place to be. - Nicholas Sparks

"For it was not into my ear you whispered, but into my heart. It was not my lips you kissed, but my soul." -Judy Garland

When I saw you I fell in love, and you smiled because you knew. -- William Shakespeare

If your feelings are still what they were last April, tell me so at once. My affections and wishes have not changed, but one word from you will silence me forever. If, however, your feelings have changed, I will have to tell you: you have bewitched me, body and soul, and I love, I love, I love you. I never wish to be parted from you from this day on. - Pride and Prejudice

Dec. 18th, 2008 03:35 am A long shot....

Alright, dear community... I need help. I am in need of a quote, that I seem to be unable to find on my own.

It needs to be about cookies. ... or maybe even baking in general.
Why? Well, I'm sending out boxes of Christmas cookies and a fitting quote would be most appropriate to include. Plus, most of my friends are quote-geeks and would get a huge kick out of it if I could find a cookie quote.

A quote about making cookies, eating cookies... cookies in general.... What have you got?

And I'll trade you for a quote I like a lot at the moment:

“I love you.”

… There aren’t any magical words, really. The words just hold the magic. They give it a shape and a form, they make it useful, describe the images within.

I’ll say this though: Some words have a power that has nothing to do with supernatural forces. They resound in the heart and mind, they live long after the sounds of them have died away, they echo in the heart and the soul. They have power, and that power is very real.

Those three words are good ones.”
